2017 Fall iSTEM Classes Begin!

We are excited to announce that our iSTEM session for the 2017 Fall semester just began on October 6th! YSE started the iSTEM program for K-12 students in order to spark their interests and intensify their passion in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). iSTEM provides sessions of 8-week after-school classes with STEM related hands-on activities. The classes are administered by YSE’s officers and interns; an energetic team of graduate students and college students with strong passion in science. Last year, we successfully completed two iSTEM sessions at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Daly City, CA. Also, we started the 2017 Fall session just a couple weeks ago at OLPH with 25 students registered from 2nd through 5th grades. The program kicked off the Fall session with a Chemistry lecture and in-class Oobleck project! In the second week, students were introduced to the new field of Sound Wave and created String Phones based on their knowledge. There are much more exciting projects coming up in our iSTEM classes! So, don’t hesitate and join us now. We are looking for media interns to document our iSTEM classes. Learn more about the internship opportunities here.
