Nadya Okamoto is a 19-year-old sophomore at Harvard, and she is running for the Cambridge City Council this year!!! Since she was in high school, Nadya co-founded a nonprofit organization called PERIOD with her friend, Vincent Forand, to help homeless women in needs of menstrual products and break the stigma around menstruation. PERIOD is now the largest youth-run nonprofit organization with more than 100 chapters.
